Trop Jr

Tropfest has once again joined forces with presenting partner The Australian Children's Television Foundation and new broadcast partner ABC3 to bring kids around Australia the third annual Trop Jr: a short film competition and festival for kids aged 15 years and younger.
Tropfest, Trop Jr is a fantastic opportunity for creative young people to get involved in filmmaking and to screen their films in one of the most unique festival environments in the world.
Entry to Trop Jr is free, kids can enter individually or as a group and multiple entries are permitted. Film formats can include live action, animation and documentaries. In true Trop tradition, each film must also include a Trop Jr Signature Item (TSI) which for 2010 was DOT. The TSI can be interpreted in any way the filmmaker chooses, as long as it appears somewhere in the film.
Trop Jr took place during the afternoon before the main Tropfest festival, at the Crescent Precinct in Sydney's Domain on Sunday 21 February 2010. Families can have a picnic lunch and enjoy the activities and amusements provided from 12pm. Celebrity presenters and judges will then kick off proceedings by screening the 12-16 Trop Jr Finalists on the big outdoor screen from 1-3pm.
Parents, teachers or carers should carefully read all of the 2010 Trop Jr Entry Guidelines, Frequently Asked Questions and Terms & Conditions that are set out on the Trop Jr website.
Check the Trop Jr website for further event details. Family picnic hampers will be pre-sold online via http://www.kitchencatering.com.au/ and available for pick up on the day. Catering marquees will also sell a la carte food and beverages on the day.
