Adventure Art Month 2010

Adventure Art Month is an activity trail to 17 galleries in and around inner Sydney. Linked to exhibitions and artworks on show during March, the trail highlights a selection of Australia's leading visual artists through a series of art-inspired activities that aim to develop children's visual literacy and artmaking skills.

The activities support the NSW K–6 Creative Arts Syllabus Visual Arts strand, in particular artmaking and art appreciation across a range of subject matter (including ‘about me'/self-portraits).

While the trail provides a wonderful and fun opportunity to extend classroom programs into the home (kids can use the trail to take their parents on an excursion), it also contains a wealth of information, ideas and activities that can be used in the classroom.

Produced in partnership with Art & Australia, the Adventure Art Month trail includes contributions from artistis Ah Xian, Daniel Wallace, Gemma Smith, Guo Jian, John Olsen, Locust Jones, Marita Fraser, Pat Brassington, Peter Neilson, Ronnie van Hout and Rusty Peters.
