Premier's Reading Challenge 2010

The Sun-Herald is a proud supporter of the Premier's Reading Challenge and to celebrate your students' achievements, we are producing a 12-page PRC Supplement and two Honour Rolls.
 
Orders for these PRC sets are now open and are available exclusively for schools to order on behalf of students. Theywill feature the name of each student that has completed the Challenge, next year's PRC book list and much more.

Free Teacher Resources

Herald Education provides teachers with a variety of stimulating resources across a wide range of subject areas to support use of  the Herald in the classroom.

The teaching and learning activities are free and in print-friendly format. Teachers report that student engagement with the Herald is high...the activities we used were engaging and worthwhile...

Based on NSW syllabus outcomes, the resources are created by teachers for teachers.

New ways to search the Herald Archives

There are now more ways than ever to search the archives of the Herald.

1. The Schools Archive
Teachers and students have access to a 3-month archive of articles from The Sydney Morning Herald that can be searched by keywords or browsed by category.

2. The Google News: Advance News Archive
A project digitising the Herald newspaper archive has been undertaken with Google. The microfilm archive of The Sydney Morning Herald, Sun-Herald and Sydney Mail as well as The Age, from the first editions up until 1989.

It's an amazing resource available free of charge that can be searched from the Google News Archive. To search the SMH simply enter "Sydney Morning Herald" into the "Source" field.
